WE’RE BACK!
Elevate is back! Student Ministries Open Bible East is excited to announce Elevate 2021: Midnight! This year’s theme comes out of Acts 16:25-26 where Paul and Silas are imprisoned for healing a slave-girl. Verses 25-26 (NRSV) say, “About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was an earthquake, so violent that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains were unfastened.” Elevate 2021 is about the belief that even when we go through the darkest times in our life, our response of praise and worship can usher in a miraculous move of God’s goodness.
NEW FOR THIS YEAR ONLY
Due to Covid-19, the Student Ministries Team has had to reimagine what Elevate looks like for 2021. This year, Elevate will be held over one weekend with two services in two locations. Each service will be live-streamed in case you aren’t able to attend for medical/precautionary reasons. Each in-person service will be available for local youth groups to attend. Groups in other Open Bible districts are encouraged to host a watch party and stream the service with their students. Services will be specially formatted to engage in-person attendees and those watching online.

COVID-19
Covid-19 has impacted us all. We understand everyone brings their own experiences and perspectives to this pandemic. At Elevate 2021, protocols will be in place and strictly followed. Do we want to have a good time? YES! Do we want to keep everyone as safe as possible? YES!
We may not all be on the same page, but we can look past our opinions for one night to worship our creator! Let’s have grace for one another and adhere to the protocols without resistance or complaint.
PROTOCOLS:
Mask wearing at all times during the session
Youth groups will have designated seating sections
Groups remain in designated seating sections at all times during the session
Attendees sit with home youth group during the session
Ministry time will remain within home youth groups
Masks will be provided for those who forget to bring one
Hand sanitizer will be set up throughout the building

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Amanda Grimes
Amanda has over 15 years of minister experience pastoring both youth and young adults. After being a youth pastor for seven years at Open Bible Christian Church in Dayton, OH, Amanda started a ministry called The Core in 2006. The Core was created to minister to young adults who were overwhelmingly leaving the Church in the United States. She has also served as the regional Next Step Director for Open Bible East. Amanda is married to Jake, and their daughter is Ellie.
George Williams
George is the Pastor of CityLight Church in Toledo, OH. In 2005 George and his wife, Sarah, bought a large house in a hurting community with the sole purpose of loving their neighbors as themselves. After years of loving and reaching their neighbors, the need for a transformative and life-giving church grew. In 2013 they held their first CityLight Church meeting. George has a passion for seeing God’s creation transformed by thriving relationships with Jesus Christ.
